My Story

Luissi Doubnia was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1964. At age 12, Luissi began cutting and sewing lessons at Instituto de Modas Fausto Teniente in Buenos Aires (1976-1980). After four years, Luissi continued at the Institute in order learn pattern-making and haute couture techniques. She learned haute couture sewing until 1985. After this apprenticeship, she began to work as a seamstress for local designers.

In 1992 Luissi moved to Lima, Perú where she earned her degree in Fashion Design from Instituto de Moda Geraldine (1993-1995). After this experience, she began her own studio in Lima. Her brand, Luissi Dounbnia specialized in evening gowns and wedding dresses. Her studio’s specialized craft and designs were renown throughout Lima, as they emphasized creativity and hand embroidery.

Luissi is an expert in beading, silk embroidery, draping, smocking, and white work. Since 2002, she has been working in Miami, Florida, where she has gained the trust of a wide clientele.
